Charging on
Duchesne Academy has a new varsity dance team, including (pictured, back row, from left) Bridget Anders, Alicia Lyon, Nyla Staes, Jennie Hourican, Kaely Suarez, Sophia Reininger, Elizabeth Johnson, and (front row) Gianna Santasiero. The Charger Girls debuted during the 2020-21 school year, performing jazz, pom, and contemporary-style dances at sporting events and dance concerts, and serving the community through dance outreach programs. The team is coached by Whitney Gillett, a former Julliard choreographer and actress in the musical “Wicked.” Led by team captains Alicia Lyon, Gianna Santasiero, and Nyla Staes, the Charger Girls will also perform in Duchesne Academy’s 60th Anniversary Dance Show, “Artisans of Hope in a Broken and Blessed World.”
