Building Resilience: Helping Children Navigate Crisis Virtual Panel
As we move into 2021, the Junior League of Houston is preparing for a new year of helping and healing and will host a virtual panel on Building Resilience: Helping Children Navigate Crisis on Tuesday, February 2nd. Over Zoom, the panel will explore the topic of children's mental health and how children can build resilience to navigate through crises. The Junior League aims to help local nonprofits and community members learn how to help Houston children not just survive but thrive in our communities.
Former KPRC Channel 2 “Buzz Lady” Roseann Rogers will moderate and guide panelists in sharing stories about how the pandemic and other recent events like Hurricane Harvey have impacted children and what can be done to mitigate the impact. Panelists include Lisa Descant, Communities in Schools CEO, Alison Gorrell, Mental Performance Coach at AG Performance Sport Psychology, Elizabeth McIngvale, Ph.D., LCSW, Director-McLean OCD Institute and Elisabeth Netherton, Staff Psychiatrist at Menninger Clinic.
