12th Annual Community Immunity Spring Luncheon
The Immunization Partnership (TIP) hosts this special event annually to focus community leaders on the importance of immunization issues, to raise funds to support and embolden our programs, and to honor those who have advanced immunizations and increased immunization rates. As our community has battled the COVID-19 pandemic, TIP’s mission to create a community free from vaccine-preventable diseases and to support the development and dissemination of new vaccines has never been more important.
Keynote speaker is Dr. Peter Hotez, pre-eminent vaccine expert and an internationally-recognized physician-scientist who led the development of vaccines to prevent and treat neglected tropical diseases and coronavirus infections, including a new Texas Children’s COVID-19 vaccine that is being accelerated in India and is now undergoing clinical testing.
Chairs: Carter Dugan, JD and Riki Graves, MHA
Honorees: Amerigroup will receive the Ralph D. Feigin, MD Award for Excellence, given in recognition of Amerigroup’s commitment to helping achieve health and wellness for underserved communities across Texas and the nation. Melanie E. Mouzoon, MD will be honored with the John R. Boettiger, Jr. Award for Community Partnership. A leader in healthcare and the community, Dr. Mouzoon has chaired TIP’s Board of Directors 4 times and served as a devoted immunization advocate and educator.
