Around the world in West U

West University Elementary School’s (WUES) annual international festival became a drive-through event along the streets of West University Place. Martina Luke-Dorn, Julie Gibson, and Anastasia Domakhina (pictured, from left) created the pandemic-approved format so WUES could continue the tradition of the beloved event. Participants used an interactive Google map to find out where different “countries” were located along the route. Students, parents, and neighbors were treated to authentic international foods like Russian baranki, German gummibärchen (aka gummy bears), and Taiwanese bubble tea while listening to bagpipe music and enjoying a special visit from the “Queen of England.”
