Picnic for the Park
More than 280 supporters joined the Memorial Park Conservancy for its annual gala, “Picnic for the Park,” which took place virtually this year. Prior to the program, attendees received al-fresco boxed picnic meals. Emceed by former KHOU 11 news anchor Lisa Foronda Harper, the evening highlighted the progress of the Master Plan underway in the park, including the Land Bridge and Prairie project, slated for substantial completion by October 2022. The 100-acre Clay Family Eastern Glades opened in July. Gala chairs were Pam and Ken Huewitt, and honorees were Tammy and Steve Jenkins. The evening raised more than $300,000 for the Conservancy.
