Donating devices for seniors

Last summer, Sunnie Liu, a current student at Yale and a St. John’s School alum, founded the Texas branch of TeleHealth Access for Seniors. The entirely student-led nonprofit provides devices for low-income communities in need so that they can safely attend virtual doctor appointments. Across neighborhoods in Houston, Austin, Dallas, Amarillo, and Galveston, the 30 Texas student volunteers have donated 150 devices and raised $30,000. Recently, Sunnie, along with Rice students Oliver Zhou and Sumin Choi, dropped off the second installment of their 60-devices donation to low-income veterans seeking access to telemedicine at Combined Arms Veteran Transition Center.
