50th Anniversary Gala for AAMA

50th Anniversary Gala for AAMA

The 50th Anniversary Gala for AAMA (the Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans) will be held at the George R. Brown Convention Center on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021. The Illumine Celebration/Celebración de Iluminación is AAMA’s signature fundraiser and will honor AAMA’s legacy and founders Froilan Hernández and Roland Laurenzo.

Christian Navarro is proud to carry on his parents’ legacy by serving as honorary chair of the gala, along with Sofia Adrogué.

AAMA was founded in 1970 by a group of students, business people, and teachers who came together to address key issues in the community, including drug abuse and school completion. Today, the nonprofit serves over 10,000 individuals annually across Texas through charter schools, prevention and counseling services, adult education, and other community services.
