Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

Events at Buffalo Bayou
On Saturday from 4-9 p.m., visit Buffalo Bend Nature Park for BioArt Bayou-torium. This event is open to all ages and free to the public, so come make a craft with artist Henry G. Sanchez inspired by the ecosystem at Buffalo Bayou.
Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for Bugstock at Buffalo Bend Nature Park on September 25 from 4-9 p.m. Enjoy an evening of bug-inspired activities, music, and plant giveaways. This event is free and open to the public.
Screen on the Green
At 8 p.m. this Saturday night, Discovery Green will be showing Hocus Pocus. The event is free and open to the public. Social distancing is encouraged. Bring a blanket and a lawn chair to enjoy this family favorite on the Green.
Doggy Party on the Plaza
Come to CITYCENTRE for PetTalk’s 11th annual Doggy Party on the Plaza this Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. There will be vendors, entertainment, a doggy costume contest, and more! This event is free and open to the public.
Hispanic Heritage Fiesta
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at the brand-new Barbara Bush Literacy Plaza at the Downtown Central Library this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is required and there are only 255 seats available. This program of dance performances, fun crafts, and family games is free and open to the public.
Still We Tend
To help celebrate the Houston Botanic Garden’s one-year anniversary in September 2021, Open Dance Project and Musiqa will co-present “Still We Tend” in the Garden. “Still We Tend” is an immersive dance performance where audience members are invited to “promenade” or walk through the Garden to view the performance at different locations. Performances will be on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.
Rice vs. Texas Southern
On Saturday, Rice football will face Texas Southern at Rice Stadium.
UH vs. Navy
On Saturday, UH takes on Navy football at the TDECU Stadium.
