Clutched it
Sydney, a sophomore at Rice University, has been named part of the Houston Rockets Clutch City Dancers. Growing up in Houston, Sydney has been a long-time fan of the Rockets and the Clutch City Dancers and is excited to be part of the organization. A 2020 graduate of Post Oak High School, Sydney began dancing at age 7, training in competing in ballroom dancing. She earned a national-finalist title the summer before her freshman year of high school. Upon starting college, Sydney immediately tried out and joined the Rice Owls Dance Team. Last summer, the Clutch City Dancers hosted a dance class open to the public and Sydney decided to go just for fun. During the class, one of the coaches approached her and encouraged her to audition. Ultimately, she was selected as one of the 14 members of the Clutch City Dancers – and she’s the youngest on the team.
