Bellaire residents Marybeth and Tom Flaherty joined Tom’s cousin Mark Even, founder of Healing Chapters Foundation, to make a special-delivery donation of books to Ronald McDonald House Houston. Mark, an author of several children’s books, became aware of the need for books at his local Ronald McDonald House in Rochester, MN. This prompted Mark to start the Healing Chapters Foundation to provide books to children are dealing with physical or mental illness. The foundation’s goal is to work with established health organizations to provide books they can give to their clients. They are currently looking for authors of Spanish language children’s books who might be interested in their books being included in the donation bundles.
