Pickles and the Stolen World Cup

Student Finn Parker and Christa Pryor, director of library services at River Oaks Baptist School (pictured, from left), enjoy a new book titled Pickles and the Stolen World Cup. The book’s author, Posey Parker, says her grandson, Finn, and her other grandchildren are her biggest fans, and they are all celebrating the launch of the book. Posey based the book on the true story of the 1966 World Cup that was stolen and found a week later by a dog named Pickles. She spent two years researching the accounts of the heist based on information from the Football Association of England (FA), the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), Scotland Yard, and Central Hall Westminster to make sure all the facts are correct. The self-published book is available through Amazon and 10 percent of the worldwide sales will be donated to animal shelters and animal-rescue groups.
