Pop-Up Art Show & Fundraiser Supporting Artists Affected by Winter Street Studios Fire

Sawyer Yards, in partnership with Fresh Arts, and Houston Arts Alliance, will host a Pop-Up Art Show & Fundraiser on Saturday, January 21, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The art fundraiser will take place at the Silver Street Studios Warehouse at 2000 Edwards Street, Houston, TX. All proceeds from the art sales will go to the Houston Arts Alliance Emergency Relief Fund which will provide stipends to the artists affected by the Winter Street Studio fire.

On Tuesday, December 20th, 2022 a devastating fire took place at Winter Street Studios, destroying several studios, and damaging countless artworks, equipment, and personal belongings. The Houston Police Department is investigating arson as the cause of the fire and this case remains under current criminal investigation. This incident has been overwhelming and heartbreaking to our community and devastating to the tenants at Winter Street Studios. Some of the artists and businesses have suffered severe financial loss and have found themselves without a source of income for the time being.
