Art car on display
Sherwood Elementary students Drew Spencer and Zachary Mueller (pictured, from left) enjoyed a fun art project with art teacher Dana Wade, inspired by Arthur Zarr's Amazing Art Car, a book by local author Cathey Nickell. Dana started by reading the book to the class and discussing how Arthur’s world changes for the better because he decided to decorate his car. She challenged students to draw their own versions of an art car, and the class voted to select one drawing to represent the class in the Spring Branch Independent School District’s (SBISD) Literacy and Art Trail. The students adorned the winning drawing with paint, beads, and rhinestones, and it was proudly displayed among works from other students and schools.
