City of West University Place Independence Day Parade

West U Parks and Recreation Department has a star-studded lineup planned for this year’s 4th of July celebration. 

Get out your bike, tricycles, strollers or wagons on July 4 and enjoy a patriotic walk/bike from West U Elementary School to Colonial Park Pool. To participate, please dress up or decorate your ride in patriotic style. Lining up will start at 8:45 a.m. in front of West U Elementary school on University Blvd. The parade will start at 9:00 a.m. sharp and will end at Colonial Park Pool. 

Following the parade, the celebration continues on at Colonial Park Pool from 9:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The contest schedule is as follows:

9:40 a.m.: Water Balloon Toss

10:40 a.m.: Frozen T-shirt

11:40 a.m.: Kids Cannonball Splash

12:00 p.m.: Belly Flop 

Registration is required for each activity the day of the event and can be made at Colonial Park Pool. Registrations are limited and prizes will be awarded for each contest.

The parade will start in front of West University Elementary School at 3756 University Blvd. All ages are welcome to attend this family-friendly Fourth event.
