Three cheers for Three Penny Press

Bellaire High School (BHS) students Dhara Agrawal, Zara Bukhari, Elly Zhang, Jessica Wang, and Cindy Tint (pictured, from left) brought home top awards at the HISD invitational UIL journalism meet held at Carnegie High School. Along with their fellow members of Three Penny Press, the BHS school newspaper team, the writers won eight UIL awards in the Copy Writing, Feature Writing, and News Writing contests in the first meet of the school year. In the News Writing category, Zara Bukhari placed third, Grayson Yen-Asprec placed fourth, and Luca Cheng placed fifth; in the Feature Writing category, Dhara Agrawal placed first, Jessica Wang placed second, Cindy Tint placed third, and Elly Zhang placed fourth; in the Copy Editing category, Elly Zhang placed second and Helen Beebe placed fifth. Congratulations to Three Penny Press staffers!
