Strut your mutt
The Best Friends’ Animal Society’s Strut Your Mutt walk recently strutted through Houston. More than 1,000 people participated in this leisurely walk and fun run and enjoyed the dog-themed festival, including doggie yoga, pet portraits, contests and pet massages. The event raised funds for adoption and spay and neuter programs. K-9 Angels Rescue participated this year and raised more than $68,000 for its rescue group, and came in second in overall funds raised among all of the Houston rescues that participated. Pictured are (from left) Brooks Lawley, Miller Friedman, Beans (rescued Boston Terrier), Bentley (rescued Portuguese Water Dog, hiding in the back), Lauren Friedman, and Noelle and Charlie (Cocker Spaniel mixes). Participants and supporters helped raise nearly $275,000 total in Houston.
