Dance officer, sophomore Izy Ferguson, watches students perform while giving feedback.
The eMotions Dance Company is one of the most prestigious programs at Bellaire High School. They have won numerous awards and represent Bellaire in many showcases and performances. Thursday afternoon was the first audition process for the upcoming 2015-16 school year.
The tryouts were a success, with incoming students from many different middle schools. These students underwent warm-up sessions and then learned and performed a short dance routine to exhibit their skills.
Elissa Pinkerton, a sophomore, teaches a routine while Izy Ferguson, also a sophomore, looks on.
The auditions encompassed modern dance, hip-hop, and breakdance, allowing students to choose which style best suited them.
Students currently in eMotions rave about it. Samantha Su, a freshman, said, “This group is so amazing and I’m just really happy to be a part of it.”
I am sure that all incoming dancers will be able to say the same next school year.
