Elisabeth Padjen
Elisabeth Padjen joined Houston Public Library in Dec. 2015 and still can’t believe she finally fulfilled her long time desire of working in a library. Before joining HPL, Elisabeth worked for two and a half years at the River Oaks Barnes & Noble. (She’s been in the book business for a while). A lifelong avid reader, Elisabeth has always loved books especially science fiction and fantasy. One of her favorite authors is Ray Bradbury. Elisabeth also still enjoys children’s literature and still regularly reads chapter books and even picture books, discussing books with some of HPL’s youngest patron’ is one of her favorite experiences. Elisabeth works closely with the Heights Children’s Librarian Alexandra Drake; she is involved in all the children’s programs and activities. The Heights is a very active community and having programs at capacity is not unusual. Elisabeth loves creating programs for the children especially involving costumes and dress up. In her short time at HPL she has brought Mother Goose, the Mad Hatter, Willy Wonka and Wonder Woman to life. Elisabeth also dabbles in crafting and loves creating fun and humorous displays for both children and adult. She looks forward to all the library adventures to come and all the good books yet read.
