Julia Smith was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Her love for writing began in second grade, where she wrote her first fictional story. Since then, she has expanded her creative horizons, dabbling in different writing styles, including analytical, creative, and journalistic. She began to write for her school newspaper, the Review at St. John's School, this past year as a junior. She immediately fell in love with the process of student journalism, and she was excited to intern at The Buzz Magazines last summer to learn more about reporting and writing. In her free time, Julia loves to spend time with friends, paint, and spend time outdoors.
