Blackberry Raspberry Crisp
From Peace Meals
3½ cups blackberries
3½ cups raspberries
1 to 2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
¾ cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup firmly packed light brown sugar
¾ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
½ teaspoon cinnamon
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
Preheat the oven to 350 F. Lightly butter a deep baking dish. Combine the berries, sugar and orange zest in a medium bowl; toss gently to mix. Pour into the prepared baking dish. For the topping, combine the flour, brown sugar, oats and cinnamon in a small bowl. Add the butter and combine by hand until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the berry mixture. Bake until the top is lightly browned and crisp, about 35 to 40 minutes. Remove the crisp from the oven and let cool for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve warm. Serves 6 to 8.
