Antonio’s Flying Pizza and Italian Restaurant
Nothing takes me back to my childhood quite like a visit to Antonio’s Flying Pizza and Italian Restaurant. This longtime Houston favorite, filled with wood tables draped with traditional red- and white-checked tablecloths and the same warm, unchanged dining room, has been serving up hand-tossed creations since 1971. Fresh ingredients and sticking to the original recipes are keys to their success. Hand-tossing the pizza creates a lighter and higher crust, enveloping the layers of blended Italian cheeses that cover the pie. Other tasty items include breaded and lightly fried calamari, as well as traditional pasta dishes like ravioli filled with ricotta cheese, and lasagna. Antonio’s remains popular, so arrive early to avoid a wait.
