Peña’s Donut Heaven & Grill
Pena’s Donut Heaven & Grill in Pearland specializes in savory sugary delights. However, the extensive menu of 20 burgers is also impressive. Located in an end cap of a nondescript strip center, the restaurant draws lines of hungry folks who queue up for breakfast and lunch. The burgers sit atop a fluffy, grilled bakery bun with a hint of crunchy sweetness. My 10-ounce, Angus-beef patty was cooked to order at medium, with a charred-crust outside and juicy, peppery middle. A savory burger and hand-cut fries for less than $10 makes this a good value and a great meal. I enjoyed Peña’s so much that I went back the following week for a Rodeo Burger, Angus beef mixed with smoked brisket from Killen’s Barbecue.
