“Born in the USA”! This is the best way to introduce myself. I am indeed, first-generation-born American to a multi-cultural family, spanning from Colombia all the way to South Africa. I was born and raised in Houston, a city where I feel like I belong, given its cultural diversity and my cultural background. I am bilingual - I speak Spanish and English. Currently, I am a student at The Emery/Weiner School, Class of 2018. I discovered my passion for writing during my sophomore year when taking a Journalism class, which made me realize that writing was something that I wanted to pursue and improve upon. Along with writing, I am a track runner and a former club volleyball player. I enjoy life in the outdoors and extreme activities. I feed my soul by doing community service whether helping out at an animal shelter, entertaining children with special needs, or working with nature preservation organizations. I am very excited to participate in the School Buzz program. Emery has always been near and dear to my heart, and through the Buzz I will have the opportunity to proudly share with our community the great things going on at my school.
