The Emery/Weiner School welcomed back their students with their annual opening ceremonies. With wonderful performances and speeches by students and faculty, the school really enhanced their theme of “Light, Love, and Life!” It was truly a memorable and unique way to enter into a new school year.
Seniors Ilana Vines and Ben Tuchshnieder address the school during opening ceremonies.
Senior Ilana Vines, one of the speakers during the ceremony, recalls, “It was such an incredible experience being a part of this Emery tradition. Not many students can say they are excited to get to school on the first day back, but it's pretty common in the Emery community - thanks to the excitement of opening ceremonies!”
Junior Clay Cohen says, I thought the ceremonies were awesome and really show the uniqueness of Emery!”
Freshman Carolyn Kessler says, “It made me feel more welcomed to the school as a freshman and was a fun way to kickoff the year. It helped me transition from summer to the school year easily.”
Senior Elise Shoss performs “Light” by Ellie Goulding, a song that really connects to the school year’s theme.
Opening Ceremonies at Emery really show the “Emery Difference” and is a great way to bring the school together before the school year starts. May this year be filled with Light, Love, and Life!
