What Julie Bortnick thought was going to be a real-estate closing on a new loft turned into a life-changing night. A path of rose petals lead her all the way down a long entry hallway to a large heart made of rose petals in the middle of the living room. To her left it said, “Will You Marry Me?” in large painted letters on the wall, and the next thing she knew, fiancé Matthew Weinstein was on one knee with a ring in hand, proposing. The couple have been friends since childhood.
