Eighth-grader Michael Melody (pictured) of the River Oaks Baptist varsity basketball team dribbles around his opponent. The basketball regular season for private middle schools recently came to completion on the varsity, junior varsity and sixth-grade levels. River Oaks Baptist is in the Houston Junior Preparatory Conference, and they also played against some schools in the Greater Houston Athletic Conference.
