Wonderful neighbors
When Marnie and Nicolas Medina gave birth to Juan Pablo Medina Feb. 27, he spent the first two weeks in neonatal intensive care at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center. He was born at 37 weeks, weighing 5 pounds, 13 ounces, when mom Marnie developed atrial fibrillation. Juan Pablo’s older siblings – Alexandra, a sophomore at Duchesne; Nicolas Jr., a seventh grader at St. Francis; and baby sister Eva Luna, 2, who attends Chapelwood preschool – meant there was plenty to keep track of. A plea went out to neighbors for meal support. Meals came, and an added bonus was the new friends she acquired along with the outpour of “love they neighbor.” Juan Pablo is giggling, and Marnie sends a big thank you.
