West University dads competed at the annual Colonial Park Pool "Daddy Belly Flop Contest" after the West University 4th of July parade. As neighbors and friends enjoyed music, food and swimming, they watched the 15 competing dads flop in the pool one by one and get scored. After the first round, there were seven left. Then, in a sudden-death round, Craig Friou scored a perfect 10 and won first place, with his proud wife, Jane, and kids Elliot, 6, and Elise, 7, cheering him on. They proudly took home their trophy.
