Top 5 Jobs of the Summer
As we all know, sadly, money doesn’t grow on trees. Teenagers have to take on summer jobs to save up for college and the new car or latest technology that mom and dad won’t buy. But jobs aren’t always bad… here are five jobs that students really enjoyed this summer!
1. Private swim lessons: Cole Holan (senior)
“I like my job because there is always so much going on that it doesn’t feel like a job. The kids are awesome and it’s really cool watching their progress.”
2. Camp counselor: Candace Cravey (junior) and Emily Burns (senior)
“I really enjoy meeting all these kids that live in the same neighborhood as me that I otherwise wouldn’t have met. It’s so much fun bonding with them and getting to know them.” -Candace Cravey
3. Bernie’s Burger Bus: John Bonilla (senior), Maria Bustes (senior), Alex Strong (senior)
“I really like the people I work with, they make the work part not so bad.” -Maria Bustes
4. Rover Oaks Pet Resort: Natasha Schepps (senior)
“I love dogs, so getting paid to take care of them and play with them is awesome. It’s so easy to get really attached to the pets, and it’s a really rewarding job.”
5. Lifeguard: Camila Wilson (senior)
“I love getting to interact with kids and families at the pool. I have a great time with the people I work with and get to enjoy being outside all summer.”
