The sound of bells ringing fills the hallways as girls walk from class to class, with their mums pinned on their chests. Students and teaches dress in America gear one day, then tacky clothes the next. Music plays over the loud speaker at lunch. Everything seems to scream out “Homecoming is here!”
Homecoming week was filled with creative theme days (America, Tacky, Camo, Neon, and Tropical), and on Friday, there was a special Homecoming pep rally in which Theater IV students pretended to be members of the Homecoming Court in a satirical skit.
Friday concluded with the Spartans’ first varsity football win that night against Magnolia West, with stands packed with green, gold, and white. At halftime, Lexi Villarreal was crowned Homecoming Queen.

On Saturday morning, the school cafeteria was transformed into paradise by the Student Council in order to match the theme of the dance, “A Passport to Paradise,” which would be taking place there that night.
Student Council had begun planning for this special week since the first day of school. They created the theme days, designed the t-shirts, and set up and cleaned up the dance.
Near the end of the dance, after plenty of fun and dancing, Will Lavercombe was announced Homecoming King. After the announcement, Will and Lexi, King and Queen, shared a dance in the middle of the floor for everyone to see.
Homecoming was filled with crazy outfits, oversized mums, an exciting football game, and a memorable dance. For most students, however, the best part of the week was the abundance of memories they made.
