First on the floor
Gymnast Peyton Donovan (pictured) exemplifies precision and strength at the Level 5 state meet in Plano. An eighth grader at Westchester Academy for International Studies, she recently retired from gymnastics after spending eight years in the sport and competing up to Level 6. She competed with Stars Gymnastics and is the reigning Level 5 state floor champion and south state floor, vault and all-around champion. “She made life-long friends in gymnastics and learned important life lessons that had nothing to do with gymnastics, but that have shaped her character for the better,” said Peyton’s mom, Karin. “Gymnastics taught her time management, self-discipline, self-motivation, and the importance of always striving to do your best.”
