Pin Oak Middle School celebrated its annual Homecoming Week with a pep rally. The day was a memorable one for the students, with a surprise visit from Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (pictured, with Pin Oak seventh-grade quarterback Ethan Tuckwood). He encouraged them to work hard to succeed in all areas of school. Maybe the encouraging words did the trick, at least for one team. The seventh-grade football team won 16-14 over Lanier Middle School. Lanier’s Purple Pups also suffered a 44-6 defeat to Pin Oak’s eighth-grade Chargers.
