Coach to 11,000

Michael Soulous (pictured) played soccer in high school in Greece and then moved to Houston to play for the University of Houston from 1966 to 1969. He has been a volunteer at the Trotter Family YMCA for 28 years as a soccer coach for kids. He’s coached more than 11,000 children in Buzz neighborhoods. He was recently honored at a YMCA banquet. The fall season has ended, but Michael has selected a group of talented kids to take special soccer classes on Saturdays until the next season begins. All of his coaching is unpaid volunteer work.
