Members of Girl Scout Troop 147013 participated on a tour of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This was an opportunity for the first- and second-grade girls to gain exposure to the operating rooms and surgical ward, and to learn about the many aspects of patient care in a hospital dedicated to treating cancer. Starting their tour in the operating rooms, the girls learned about the Da Vinci robot and its utility in cancer surgery, with a demonstration by Dr. Brian Chapin, assistant professor in the Division of Urology. Pictured are (front row, from left) Emerson Chapin, Lily Riddle, Kylie Koehn, Amelie Rozowski, Eliana Antonoff, Chloe Clements, Kailea Kegel, (top, from left) Isabella Sorenson, Audrey Vo, Margot Rozowski, Katherine Keenan and Emily Nakata.
