Future doctors
Members of Girl Scout Troop 147013 participated on a tour of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This was an opportunity for the first- and second-grade girls to gain exposure to the operating rooms and surgical ward, and to learn about the many aspects of patient care in a hospital dedicated to treating cancer. Starting their tour in the operating rooms, the girls learned about the Da Vinci robot and its utility in cancer surgery, with a demonstration by Dr. Brian Chapin, assistant professor in the Division of Urology.
