Earlier this week, elections for the next student body president and vice president were held in the school auditorium. Prior to elections, posters covered the walls, creatively advertising themselves to be elected.
The candidates were three pairs of 11th grade students, all of whom had been a part of student council and gave wonderful speeches. Afterwards, ballots were handed out to the entire student body, sans the seniors.
The first pair included Marissa Barnes (P) and Analisa Ruiz (VP), with the second being Evangeline Carson (P) and Emma Hansen (VP), and the third being Aris Smith (P) and Tori Hollaman (VP). The election had a runoff between the first and second tickets, so a revote was cast.
The winners were Evangeline Carson and Emma Hansen, and SAA is looking forward to having them as leaders of student council next year!
