League celebrates 90 years

The Junior League of Houston recently celebrated its 90th year. The League has a corps of almost 5,200 volunteers who help throughout the community. The big-milestone 90th anniversary was celebrated Jan. 22 in the Junior League Ballroom. At the event, the League awarded more than $250,000 in honor of the anniversary, including a gift to help a Community Health Worker component for Texas Children’s Hospital’s SuperKids Mobile Pediatric Clinic. The League helped the program get off the ground with a $1 million grant in 2000. For more information, call 713-622-4191 or see juniorleaguehouston.org.
