Over 500 community leaders, including (pictured, from left) Winell Herron, Steve Vetrano, Cathy Krajicek, Bruce LaBoon, Leisa Holland Nelson and Ronald Jackson, gathered at the Hilton Americas for the Century of Caring Luncheon benefiting the American Red Cross. Chairs Holland Nelson and Herron, along with honorary chair Bobbie Nau, kicked off the year-long celebration of 100 years of the American Red Cross providing care in the community. Len Cannon of KHOU Channel 11 emceed, and Marathon Oil’s local charitable contributions were recognized, along with Bruce LaBoon as a longtime supporter of the American Red Cross Greater Houston Area Chapter. Seen in the crowd were Marathon Oil vice president Cathy Krajicek, Alice Aanstoos (board chair, American Red Cross Greater Houston Chapter), Merril and Joe Hafner, Carol Linn, Denise Monteleone, Barbara Van Postman, Susan Sarofim, Jo Lynn Falgout, Kimberly Falgout, Diane Englet, Tracy Janda, Randa Weiner, Sharon  Adams, Genora and Dwight Boykins, Mario and Gina Elie,  and Mayor Annise Parker. Parker designated March as American Red Cross month and shared the story of when her father worked with the International Red Cross. See redcross.org/Houston.
