If you know a teen or child being abused, there is a resource for help. At the website www.thethreadalliance.org, you can click on the orange tab to give them immediate assistance. The kickoff for Thread Alliance’s (an umbrella organization to guide and be a resource for child-abuse prevention) Third Blue Plate Special was held at Brennan’s. Forty restaurants designated one plate on their menus as the “blue plate special” dish; a percentage of the proceeds goes to Thread Alliance. Sheila Aron started the fundraiser after recognizing the need. Mayor Pro-Tem Ed Gonzalez, Joyce and Gary Nimetz, Vivian and Stanley Lipman, Sonia Soto and Bernadette Cashon, Joe Witherspoon, and Joe and Joan Perez were patrons at the event.
