Houston meets New York
The moms of Laura Max Nelson, originally from New York, and Houston’s Benjamin Harwood Rose had a hunch that these two should meet, and it paid off … eventually. They married at Congregation Beth Israel, where Laura’s great grandmother, grandmother, mother and aunt married. The wedding and aisle featured a canopied arch of branches and flowers, and rose-adorned halos hung from the ceiling. The reception at The Houstonian sparkled with mirrored tables. The couple rode elephants in Bali, did a day-long sushi and cherry blossom tour in Tokyo and saw Lee Kuan Yew’s memorial in Singapore. Parents of the couple are Leisa Holland-Nelson and Robert Nelson and Cindi and Franklin Rose.
