Nature called
A miserable, rainy morning was expected, but 1,000-plus walkers enjoyed instead a breezy, cool day at the fourth annual Walk for the Woods. Local volunteers who walked in the East End along Buffalo Bayou, passing historic spots along the way, were walk founder and president Steve Rosencranz with his wife Tricia, Carlton and Kathy Cook, Sydney and Parrish Isaacs, Mary Harvey and Kenneth Schneider, Jamie and Howard Strong, Betsy and John Long, Adrienne and John Shanks, Scott and Karrie Hilliard, Mary Harvey, Terry Ward, and Sue and Greg Kelly. The Walk for the Woods project uses wilderness experiences, trips and education to develop self-reliance, grit and tenacity in low-income high school kids in Houston.
