The road to recovery
400 supporters attended The Hope and Healing Center and Institute’s 4th Annual Chrysalis Occasion Award Luncheon. The event was held at the Bagby Parish Hall at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. Ray and her husband, Hugh, were this year’s luncheon chairs, and honorary chair was the Rev. Dr. Jim Jackson. The luncheon paid tribute to founding executive director Dr. Scott Basinger, who retired at the end of December. The key-note speaker and Chrysalis Award recipient was documentary filmmaker Greg Williams. Greg, in long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs since the age of 17, is a health-policy advocate and documentary filmmaker. The institute was established to provide a comprehensive program of awareness, prevention and recovery for individuals in all stages of life. See hopeandhealingcenter.org.
