Luke Brandt
Horn Academy fourth grader Luke Brandt (pictured, with his dog Tyler), stayed cool while canoeing in Village Creek near Silsbee. The family drove an hour and a half from Houston for the day adventure. They rented canoes at Eastex Canoe Trails and were dropped off at the put-in point. The canoe trip lasted three hours, and they stopped along sandbars to get in the water and cool off. They are making plans to do it again.
