Summer means no school, but the Spring Branch Education Foundation handed out scholarships over the break. The involvement for students pays off, such as when Becky Whittle’s fourth-grade class at Rummel Creek Elementary got a sweet reward for some hard work the last week of school. Their class gathered the most registrants for the annual Run for the Arts 5k fundraiser. As their prize, they got front-row seats on the bleachers as RCE principal Nancy Harn creamed coach Debbie Moore with a pie in the face.
