(From left) David Holland and Michael Williams graduated from Memorial High School together in 2010. Back in high school, they would often attend Rockets games together and enjoyed rooting for the Rockets last night years later as college grads.

Last night, the Houston Rockets opened their regular season at 7 p.m. in the Toyota Center vs. The Denver Nuggets. David Holland and I were there to catch the action. David, a recent graduate of Texas A&M University, invited me to the game with him.

David Holland said he already owned too many jerseys so he ultimately decided to purchase a giant Rockets hand. Too bad the Houston Rockets lost to the Denver Nuggets 85 – 105. But David and Michael Williams still had a blast.

David and I attended Memorial High School together (Class of 2010) and even though I attended TCU in Fort Worth while he was in College Station, we have always remained good friends. The Rockets have always been a common interest of ours and this was our first game together since high school.

Unfortunately, The Rockets couldn’t keep pace in the fourth quarter and lost to the Denver Nuggets 85-105. That didn’t prevent us from enjoying the fun atmosphere and we definitely look forward to going to another home game soon.

Go Rockets!

Editor's Note: Michael Williams is a Memorial High School grad who's passionate about sports.
