Gold-trophy winners
The Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association JV flag football Jaguars won the division championship. The boys are first through third graders at Second Baptist School and Memorial Drive Elementary. Each player learned to throw and catch, so the offense was able to incorporate a number of passing plays. After finishing the season, 11-0, they met another undefeated team, the Saints, at the championship game and won 27-13. The athletes loved the experience of playing on artificial turf in the 15,000-person-capacity Darrell Tully Stadium. After a pregame talk in the dressing room, the Jaguars took the field and were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd and stadium announcer. Tully Bowl victors are (top row, from left) coaches Paul Townsen, Mark Toon and Chris Torn, (bottom row, from left) players Baron Selph, Christopher Torn, Brody Zanovich, Eian Lowe, Presley Townsen, Will Huthnance, Canon Toon, William Carl, Tanner Watkins, Dylan Davis and Carson Bratcher.
