Rodeo Horse Show
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s horse show – a “too-well-kept secret” of the rodeo - has begun. The cutting competition is going on now through March 3. World’s Championship Bar-B-Q
More than 250 teams are competing in this traditional Texas cook-off. The cook-off started Thursday and continues Friday and Saturday evenings. Visitors can enjoy delicious BBQ in public venues. See more details.
Lamar High School’s “Once Upon a Mattress”
Lamar High School’s Fine Arts Departments presents “Once Upon a Mattress,” a fun twist on the classic story of “The Princess and The Pea,” starring more than 50 Lamar students. Performances include Friday, 7 p.m., 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday and several other times. See more details.
Rodeo Run
The ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run, which includes a competitive 10k race and a non-competitive 5K run/walk, takes place Sat. morning. See more details.
Downtown Rodeo Parade

Houston Kosher Chili Cookoff
Take a break from BBQ and enjoy some kosher chili! Head to the Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center on Sunday afternoon for a fun day of festivities and a kosher chili competition.
