St. Agnes Track Team is Unstoppable
The St. Agnes JV and Varsity track team placed first in districts. Varsity went on and placed first at regionals and had 25 people qualify for state. Over the weekend they won the TAPPS 5A state championship at Baylor University for the first time in 24 years.
Ijeoma Chinedo, a junior, placed first in triple jump and broke the school record. Maryella Cohn, a junior, placed third in the 1600 meters and second in 3200 meters. The 4 by 100 relay placed third, the 4 by 200 relay got second and the 4 by 400 relay placed first and also broke the school record with a time of 3 minutes and 56 seconds.
St. Agnes won the whole meet with a total of 170, which was 35 points more than the second place team, Liberty Christian School. The St. Agnes track team had a great season with many wins and 14 new school records.
