One is 10 years older. John Falk and Allan Rodewald met at one of Allan’s art openings and became fast friends and started celebrating their May 27 and 28 birthdays together eight years ago. They blow out candles at Allan’s pool, which is shaped like an artist’s palette, and sometimes they let John’s wife, Claudia Falk, pick out their chocolate cake. Chris Higgins and Rex and Maggie Solomon are regulars in the group of 30 friends.
