It was a small group with a big heart at Black & White (Mediterranean and seafood bistro) in the Heights. Chairs Luvi and Carlos Wheelock greeted everyone as partiers feasted on Central American-inspired bites and a Casamigos tequila strawberry drink at the kickoff event for the Fabretto Children’s Foundation’s third annual gala. The gala, Houston Night for Niños, on Oct. 13 at the Hobby Center, will raise money to empower underserved children and their families in Nicaragua to reach their full potential and improve their life. Some of the supporters in the mix were Tammy and Rodrigo Leyton, Sannam and Scott Warrender, Janessa and Doug Young, and Margaret and Matt Thurmond. Buena vida.
