A tradition continues

For 64 years, the Theta Charity Antiques Show has raised over $7 million for more than 100 Houston medical, educational, cultural and community philanthropies. For 64 years, Mary Margaret Perry McDonald (pictured with her children, Trish Chambers, David Perry and Jane Perry Porter), one of three founders of the show, has either led or supported this effort. The 2016 show will be held at the Bayou City Event Center, 9401 Knight Road, Nov. 11-13. The Gala Preview Party will be Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. Additional events include the Mary Frances Bowles Couper Designer Walks (tour of the show with leading Houston designers), and the Anne Lamkin Kinder Art Walks (Lea Weingarten, The Weingarten Art Group, and Bradley Brooks, curator of the Bayou Bend Collection, taking small groups on a tour of the show’s art). Tickets are on sale: admission, $15; preview party, $200; designer walks, $25; art walks, $25.
